pic Name:Jerry Smialek
Position: Chief Masking Engineer
Born in Cracow Poland, Jerry arrived in the U.S. in 1987 as a political refugee. A naturalized U.S. citizen, Jerry is a graduate of the Cracow public schools as well as having completed 3 years at Jagiellonian University of Cracow before coming to the U.S. Jerry spent nearly a year at Savage Arms as a firearms assembler prior to coming to work for Westfield Electroplating in November of 1987. Jerry steadily rose through the ranks at WEPCO starting as an operator in the hard anodize department and gaining increasing experience and responsibility, ultimately becoming WEPCO's Masking Department Supervisor. Given the critical nature of most parts processed at Westfield Electroplating, Jerry's expertise in blueprint reading and creative masking design has allowed WEPCO to carve a niche as being the preeminent company for selectively plating crucial "flight safety" hardware. Jerry is bilingual in Polish and English and supervises one of WEPCO's largest departments. Jerry and his wife live in Westfield with their 2 children Alexandra, a 13 year old middle school honor student, and Matthew a college bound Westfield High School senior with a 3.4 GPA. Jerry enjoys traveling through New England in addition to playing the guitar and reading.
